Lisa and I followed the creek flowing down the rocks. It had been awhile for us. Twenty-nine years for this spot. Kelsie was just born. It would be her birthday tomorrow. In a sense Lisa and I hardly knew each other. And our little girl, so perfect, was sure to change our lives in ways we couldn’t yet understand. Our parents held her tight beside the fire, while we wandered the creek bottom.
And here we are all these years later. Above the trees. Kicking around snow line trying not to slip on frosty rocks and fall in the creek.
Very fine day.
