Road to Orion.
Willow and I took to the creek early. The goal was to watch Orion’s return while getting a breath of fresh morning air.
The waning gibbous moon lit the way and made walking easy. Sure enough Orion came up sideways, chasing the beautiful winter star clusters, Pleiades and Hyades in the constellation Taurus.
The mornings are darker and cooler. It was much warmer this morning than the 4°c that greeted Willow and I at the river a few days ago.
There is something calming about the return of the winter constellations. Soon the nights will be long and dark. The sky will be alive with myth and legend. It will feel good to settle in and watch the endless show that never ceases to amaze.
