Woke up to five inches of heavy wet snow. By the afternoon it was gone, replaced with mud. After work Willow and I went for a walk down the river. The sun is hanging in longer, yet down by the time we set out.  Willow loves the water and fetching sticks. She wades out and waits for me to throw them. She is training me well! When it is time to move on, sometimes she disagrees and keeps standing in the middle of the creek. When I’m about fifty feet down the shore she will gallop up beside me, all smiles. It is hard not to smile at her eager enjoyment of the mud, smells and river.
