Brought up the pail of sauerkraut from the basement. I’ve been skimming the scum off diligently. Lisa laid down the law. She said, ‘Do something with it, I have company coming.’
True, it hasn’t smelled the best.
Today I took the rock off the plate and peeled back the cheese cloth. I wasn’t sure what I’d find. There it was – deep purple. Tasty and sour. Fermented for over a month and a half. I ate a bunch to make sure I didn’t die. It tasted great! The rest I jarred and processed. Fermented food is supposed to be good for you.
If I ever get trapped in the basement It’s nice to know I’ll be eating healthy.
