Early October

by underswansea

Been more than a month before I looked at the stars. Headed quick for the hills. The Milky Way has turned. My feet are on the ground. Great men line up stars with the trees. Knowing it is us that change. I get confused when my favorite mountains stop lining up with the stars. Still, I am luckier than most men to see both.

The brightest part of the Milky Way is going down. Soon we will be left staring out past Orion into pure open space. That’s winter for you.
