Cooled down today. Found plenty of wild mushrooms. Picked a handful of small puffballs for soup. Lisa started a fire just to keep the chill off. She made seven jars of red cabbage pickles. They are my favorite. In an effort to extend the weekend, I headed for the creek this evening. Plenty signs of fall starting to show. The colours have been slow this year. We still haven’t had a frost in the valley bottom. The tomatoes are ripening like never before. It is coming, however. Up top the raindrops felt like they were thinking about becoming snow. Very fine day.
