Stepped out side after lunch and was greeted by five Pine Grosbeaks. At first glance, on seeing the red breasts, I thought they were early Robins. The Pine Grosbeak call is a series of low whistles. They let me listen for a while before flying away. Grosbeaks are common to the area, but this is the first time I have seen them in the yard. It was good to see them. I hope they feel welcome to come back.
