Helluva a month. Found myself shifting gears, walking around an offset press again. I love the smell of ink. Have you ever heard anyone say they love the smell of toner? There is something about the way it looks and feels while mixing colour. There is something about the way a press sounds when it is printing: the rollers turning when perfectly inked, the air separating the sheets and the vacuum picking them up, the impression cylinder engaging and the ink laying down on the stock, the chain delivering the printed piece and a burst of spray powder before dropping on the pile. When it is all working there is no sound or smell like it.

You need all of your senses to print. You need all your senses to read it.
